the project
"take a walk on the website" focused on creating interfaces for
virtual reality environments. how can data be supplied with the new possibilities?
i made up a virtual library providing information
about ants. to achieve this, i set up an interaction
concept for the powerwall and developed a navigation structure.
utilities: sketches, alias, photoshop, powerwall

my topic for
the pro-e class was designing a socket for a bulb
as a functioning lamp. while working with this solid
modeler, differences to other surface modeler became clear. for example,
on the one hand it was easily possible to generate some technical drawings,
but on the other hand it was quite hard to get a free form surface.
utilities: sketch rendering, pro-e, photoshop

this
was the main class in my exchange semester. in the "elevator"
studio, i developed a concept called "moving
vestibule". the elevator became an integrated part of each apartment.
the cabin is comparable to a vestibule and can slide up and down on one
of the four lanes. the framework is constructed out of single, turnable
elements just as high as the cabin. one lane is reserved for emergency.
utilities: sketch renderings, alias
materials: plywood, plexiglas, cardboard

the topic of
the second term was "a manually operated pump". i decided to develop
a caulking gun with a pumping
mechanism. the air tank of this caulking gun can be filled by pulling
and pushing the grip. the air pressure secures a steady
flow of the substances. compared to its predecessor, it is shorter
and has a better balance. the front part is turnable.
utilities: sketches, working model

this contact
lens case is an entry for a "corporate identity" competition.
it is smooth and handy and fits easily into pockets because of its small
size. the contact lens carrier is asymmetric and has a defined left and
right sides. the case offers two flat surfaces for logos and advertisements.
utilities: drawings, working model
materials: uriol, wire for the axis, springs
for the catch

the "lauf!junge"
(run!boy) is an indoor and outdoor toy for training dexterity and balance.
standing on it, you can rotate around the stands and advance forward in
a seesaw movement.
this product had to be easy to build because of the term topic "products,
that could be manufactured by disabled people". on the other hand,
it had to be attractive enough to be sold in a toy shop.
utilities: drawings, prototype
materials: plywood, griptape, metal axis
period: 3rd term |
